Packed House @ Pinkopolis!

Pinkopolian Pebbles has never claimed to love Karaoke. That didn’t stop him from trying it, just as his resistance to celebrity didn’t stop him from passionately grabbing his microphone and roaring out the Lion King Disney Classic; ‘I just can’t wait to be King.’ A remarkable effort, resulting in fans making statements like ‘This is the best day of my life!’ Peb went on to sing ‘Love on Top’ and then left women pouring jugs of water over  themselves after his delivery of Ain’t No Fun [Homies can’t have none] Delighted audiences travelled from all over PalTalk to catch an audio glimpse of the talented crooner.

“This is the best day of my life!”

This story or a version of it applied to almost every Pinkopolian who entered ‘Pinkopolis’ on Saturday evening.

Collectively, jaws hit desks when Mz_Fierce_Bo0ty [Pebbles biggest fan], stepped into the audio spotlight, singing Adele’s ‘Rollin in the Deep’. Pinkopolians were elevated further as she soulfully crooned Corinne Bailey Rae’s ‘Till it happens to you’ and ‘Like a star’, wowed the crowd with ‘Whatta Man’ [Inclusive of rap]  and ended her playlist serenading everyone with ‘Killing me Softly’.

‘Jaws hit desks when Mz Bo0ty stepped into the audio spotlight’

Plummy also gripped our hearts with an Adele track, ‘Someone like you’,  right after she left us breathless singing ‘At Last’, the Etta James classic. Plummy is our answer to Luciano Pavarotti, an impresario’s dream come true!

‘Plummy is our answer to Luciano Pavarotti, an impresario’s dream come true!’

Ernie is ready to release his first ‘Cover’ Album. ‘Tangled up in you’ earnt him a subjective marriage proposal from his Co Pinkopolis Admininistrator Miss Lou Lou. Something to remind you’, ‘Baby Can I hold you Tonight’, ‘Say you Say me’ and ‘Heartless‘ were among the other tracks sure to make the production. His emotional expression during ‘Kiss Me’ was urgent, compelling and, above all, believable.

‘His emotional expression during ‘Kiss Me’ was urgent, compelling and, above all, believable.’

Joey had pinkopolis females throwing their underwear at the cyber stage, jumping in his lap, making marriage proposals, professing their love and drooling on their own cleavage! Crooning out tunes such as ‘Make you feel my Love’, ‘Whiskey Lullaby’, ‘Crazy’, ‘When you say nothing at all’ and ‘Wont give up’, he raised the room temperature by about 300 degrees. [Are we in heaven now?]

“JOEY!! I love you!”

Delivering tunes Shhh Boom‘, ‘When will I be loved’, ‘Life goes on’, ‘Love me Tender’ and the popular Karaoke hit ‘The lion sleeps tonight’, John C had everyone grabbing their hairbrushes, bursting into chorus. Undoubtably, another Pinkopolian Critter ready to hit the world with an album!

‘Everyone grabbed their hairbrush and burst into chorus!’

Pinkopolian Brae, scarce in his Pinkopolis homeland, redeemed himself, thrilling peers with a combination of Alternative Tunes & Ballads. ‘Jack and Diane’, ‘Blister in the Sun’‘Love Cats’ and David Bowies’ ‘Space Oddity’  were all strongly represented performances.

‘Thrilling peers with a combination of Alternative Tunes & Ballads’

Just Kell bestowed a captivating performance of Madonna’s ‘Hanky Panky’ that left spectators frazzled.

‘a captivating performance of Madonna’s ‘Hanky Panky’ that left spectators frazzled.’

Bella enchanted her on-listeners with the Fine Frenzy ballad ‘Almost Lover’. Followed by Tina Turners hit from the 90’s, ‘Whats love got to do it?’ then Tim Mcgraws ‘Dancing when the stars go blue’, she brought her sessions to a close with a magical performance of the much loved Beatles hit ‘Really got a hold on me’

‘Bella enchanted her on-listeners…’

Angelina375, obviously accomplished vocally, presented a vivid and intense rendition of Bruno Mars hit single ‘When I was your man’.

Crying Hippy recieved a warm response with his admirably clear and distinct voice as he swept in and delighted everyone with ‘Where can my baby be?’.

Best described as a professional Karaoke Star in his own right, Dobber captured us with his perfect delivery of ‘Wildflower’!

Purr [Miss Lou Lou’s greatest fan when it comes to tune delivery] thoroughly amused ‘ear’ observers streaming through ‘Short Dick Man’, [Atleast the female audience members – It was difficult to determine why the men were amused!]

Venomiss struck us hard with ‘Hate myself for loving you’The extraordinary power of her voice drawing on the eternal themes of love and the struggle that often accompanies it.

Love and relationships presented as a strong theme throughout the evening when it came to song choices. Will sang the John Legend hit ‘Ordinary people’. With his powerful yet subtle tone he was passionately convincing, drawing us in, emotionally communicating the foundations of the track.

‘Passionately convincing, he drew us in, emotionally communicating the foundations of the track.’

Stunning us with her ability to capture and potray emotions singing pieces in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and even 5th languages, Issy really did the Beatles Classic ‘I want to hold your hand’ justice! [Wondering if we can nominate our Issy for some kind of record attempt!]

Vader had Pinkopolians holding their bellies with his melodic crooning of the Fat song. In laughter ofcourse, not because of pain caused by stomach crunches hardly anyone ever does!

‘melodic crooning of the Fat song’

Records of the star studded event, hosted by Pinkopolis Admin Miss Twinkles, saw atleast 167 people participate, with no less than 18 of those singing, most more than once.

Members of the community, affectionately labelled as ‘Pinkopolians’, pulled together in what can only be described as a display of mutual musical adoration!

Pinkopolis Admin Miss Lou Lou didn’t have the opportunity to provide any of her glass-shattering renditions at the event, though she did appropriately admit “It’s not about being good, it’s about having a good time.”

  6. YAY @ Ernie critter 🙂 Now we really should discuss this conditional proposal business..

I expect a 143 capacity shoe rack in my 5 by 5 metre walk in closet.

I will require cooking classes or at least permission to spend my own money on a secret food budget so I can order in food then pretend I cook it. You must act like you do not know about the secret budget.

Towels use/wash ratio is 1:1. No exceptions

All cars must have number plates which read ‘Hers’.

Any fish caught during a fishing trip must be set free, even if they die and other marine creatures get to eat them.
